Leo Awards Film Festival Announces Screened Films!

April 22, 2005: Vancouver — Sonny Wong, LEO AWARDS 2005 producer, is pleased to announce the selected films that will be screened at the LEO AWARDS FILM FESTIVAL. The LEO AWARDS FILM FESTIVAL 2005 takes place April 29-May 2 at the Pacific Cinémathèque.

“We are excited to see the LEO AWARDS FILM FESTIVAL come to fruition and congratulate all the selected programs,” said Mr. Wong. “We also salute and thank the Pacific Cinémathèque for their efficiency and diligence in assisting with the production of this important initiative.”

Productions screened at the LEO AWARDS FILM FESTIVAL include nominees in LEO AWARDS 2005 categories including Feature Length Drama, Short Drama, Documentary Program and Animation. In recognition of the future of the film industry, all Student Productions will be screened at the coveted Saturday evening time slot. “The quality of works in this first LEO AWARDS FILM FESTIVAL is impressive and speaks to the incredible vibrancy of filmmaking in our province,” said Jim Sinclair, executive director, Pacific Cinémathèque. “We invite everyone to join us in this celebration of BC film.”

The LEO AWARDS FILM FESTIVAL extends the mandate of the LEO AWARDS by providing an opportunity for the general public to view screenings of LEO AWARDS entrants in specific program categories. The LEO AWARDS FILM FESTIVAL 2005 takes place April 29-May 2 and is a co-production of the LEO AWARDS and Pacific Cinémathèque. The official car of the LEO AWARDS FILM FESTIVAL is MINI Canada.
